Using Boolean Modifiers I then cut the camera’s out of a cube. Two cubes actually.

Another issue with my initial mount was that both camera’s were facing straight forward. In this design I tilted the cameras slightly; made the Toe In. The cameras should converge at 20 centimeters (about seven inches) in front of the enclosure.

It took my simple 3D printer 12 hours to create the 3D print. I was amazed that the cameras actually fit. I thought I was creating a test print, but I ended up with a usable holder. That is: the cameras fit and all but there is nothing in the design to mount it onto a tripod. Maybe I can clamp it on there…

The holes in the back of the holder are for the USB cable to connect the cameras. One is a bit off but I intentionally made them too large, so that is no problem.

There is no way to adjust the alignment, so if I want to shoot with the cameras converging at different distances I will need to design and print separate holders for each distance. At some point I may want to create a holder with the cameras at human intra-ocular distance, that is as far apart as the distance between the eyes, or about 6.35 cm apart. But first I need to test this contraption.

To improve the alignment of the two webcams I am using to build a stereo camera rig for stop motion, I created a 3D printed holder.

[29
30,37,36,32,14,31
post-398","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-blog","tag-animators-anonymous","tag-b3d","tag-blender","tag-stereoscopy","tag-stop-motion","tag-wip
["GET
