Eight stages of a 3D print melting

Melting Multiples Soon

Optimistically I saved the recordings from this week under “Last Test” as I think my setup is now ready. The slide with the heat gun is now mounted vertically so it can slowly melt the model from the top down.

I have added a photo camera and my phone to shoot the destructive process from more angles at once. The phone is not pictured as I needed something to take this picture with.

So now it is time for 3D print production to create the 24 stages of the walk cycle. This may take a while as each print takes 6, 7 hours…

Now that I have this bathroom fan for ventilation I though I might as well use it while printing. Here you see it pictured over my Anet 8 3D printer

Once printed, each one needs to be cleaned up. The tree supports make that much easier than the old straight supports. Easier, not a breeze.

On the second print from the left you can see I included a number on the back of the pedestal for the model so I can keep track off which frame it represents.
